A Citrus-Inspired Lairmont Manor Wedding

Shakeila and Neil found their wedding inspiration in their love for travel, particularly their unforgettable trip to Italy in 2019. From Shakeila’s initial email expressing her enthusiasm for Italy’s food, decor, and culture, they dreamt of having a destination wedding in Europe. However, due to practical reasons, they decided to bring a touch of European charm to their celebration in Washington instead, choosing the picturesque Lairmont Manor as their venue.

To infuse the essence of Italy into the Pacific Northwest, Tamara of Simply Tamara incorporated citrus and fruit details throughout the floral decor, adding vibrant and bright sunrise hues to the blooms. Italian ruscus and olive branches further enhanced the Mediterranean ambiance. The focal point of the ceremony was a beautifully broken arch adorned with lively colors and textures, framing the couple against the backdrop of Lairmont Manor’s enchanting fountain.

To truly evoke the ambiance of an Italian street market, they designed a custom wood structure adorned with hanging dried flowers. Each flower arrangement was tied with the name and table number of each guest, doubling as both a favor and an escort card. Julia, the coordinator from Always and Forever Events, added delightful neutral textures with the linens and complimented the table settings with elegant green water goblets. As a unique touch, they crafted some centerpieces in stone busts, a favorite detail of ours, and completed the romantic atmosphere with an abundance of candles.

Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Lairmont Manor’s gardens, Shakeila and Neil’s wedding was reminiscent of a romantic celebration in the Italian countryside. Their special day truly embodied the spirit of their travels and the love they shared for one another, leaving lasting memories for them and their guests!
